Dumaguete City Part II

In behalf of my team in Operation Taghoy, we would like to thank the locals of Dumaguete City for the warm welcome.

Pres. Jonathan Colburn of RC Dumaguete East, together with the immense hardwork of PP Jun Dato, who brought us around the city and into the community of the millionaire's compound - El Pueblo Genovivo. Jun toured us around Siliman University (founded in 1901), the provincial

hospital where we proposed the 2011 medical mission for cleft lip and palate, and the wonderful showcase in Sidlakan Negros where we bought some stuff for the gala dinner fundraising back in Denver and many other places...oh, Jun's ancestral's house is impressive, too. To Winston Gomez, a fine guy who is a wine dealer in town, Dr. Cesar Rana - surgeon, Dr. Joeven Occene and his lady sweetheart, Dr. Grijalvo both of Iloilo City, and the rest of the members of RC Dumaguete East, all together, we had fun along the beach during lunch and family fellowship. I love the kids who loves the water and don't mind the sun in the middle of the day....they are adorable and are glued together because their parents are into a volunteer organization.

Dr. Barb and I had a long walk around downtown and the boulevard, too this afternoon. We had a chance to look closer at the places connected to each other...everything is just a walking distance. It will be really an ideal place for the team during the mission.

It was quite a "talk" about our volunteering experience, fun for life and others...

Tomorrow, we will have a long day with the schedule meeting with Gov. Mecias and some others on the medical mission. Then I am looking forward to the loooong drive to Bacolod City at lunchtime for our second leg of the emissary visit mission.
