A. Extremely Unhappy people don't know their life purpose.
B. Unhappy people who know their life purpose but don't work on it.
C. Happy people who know their life purpose, work at it, but not
daily.
D. Extremely Happy people who know their purpose and work on it
daily!
When I made a choice to volunteer, it is because I have known my life purpose. It is extremely difficult to volunteer when you don't have enough resources especially money. Because they said, money makes the world go round, however, is also the source of all evil. But it's us that makes it go round and makes it evil and not the money per se. Did you get my point?
Going back to volunteering....everytime you see an opportunity that arises everyday of your life...and when you are at it, do you say "Yes, I volunteer" right away or do you need to think it many times over and say, "hey, wait, let me think about it first?"

Today, as we are supposed to start our youth meeting for the Parochial Youth Camp, when our parish team moderator was telling me about the old man who needs the last minute prayer because the family thought he was dying. He was in a hurry to go out saying that he has a "sick call". So off he went. When he got back, we have not yet started our meeting because of the waiting period with the annoying "filipino time" system around here. Anyhow, he was telling me about the old man and thought reading between the line, he was not actually happy of just giving the old man the last minute blessing since he thought there was something more to it that they should do. I asked how old was the sick. He said, sort of 60 plus when in fact the old man later I learned is 76 years old. Right away, my instinct was, Father, let's go to see the old man, please bring me to his house.
To cut the story short, like what our team moderator was thinking, the old man has the chance to live longer if only the family has the money to bring him right after he met an accident. to the hospital. Without money, they could only conclude, the old man is dying. Father Joe and I decided we will bring him to get an X-ray tomorrow and while tonight, he need to take a pain killer medicine to ease him with pain on his left hip and leg because of slipping from the floor three days ago. I thougth the old man is strong enough to live longer once he is treated well.
The irony was, when we actually have the instinct to help no matter what the situation is at the present moment when the help is needed, I don't think twice. I run right away and help. With or without money or whatever it will come out of your decision, you are just there to help. Money isn't always the case here. It is a matter of your time to be there for the person, the quicker response you can give to assist the other person, TO BE THERE for whatever cause...just to be there....I feel very happy to be able to assist and help out in a little way I can, I was even surprise, we were there as quicker as we can to decide for the family that hey, the Lord will provide for what you need, for what we need.
I feel ssssoooooooo great and I am sharing my happiness with you all.
The story to be continued......

With a driver, a priest, two seminarians and one altar boy, we all went to together in a seminary van to get the old man the next day. It was funny to be this way when you actually do something good for other people while you have fun together in
doing it. We finally brought the old man to get an X-ray. The old man has bone fracture in his left thigh and the reason why he was in pain for almost a week now. The good priest felt better that everything was done smoothly. We all felt very happy afterwards that in a small way, we have done our part.As usual, we partnered with good doctor who is just a text away when his expertise is most needed. We now await for the splints to be put on the old man so it will make him feel good and hopefully to get better soon. We hope to see him playing his trumpet during the parochial youth camp next week....now that is exciting for all of us, huh!

This morning, it was like a miracle that we saw Mang Elio sitting on his bed. Thought he looks better than we left him the other day in pain. Again, with the help of some seminarians and kind hearted boys around the area, together, they brought Mang Elio to the van and we headed to the outpatient department of the provincial hospital in town to get his splints from the kind Doctor Lemon. Before we left the hospital, the doctor made sure he was okey and got another doctor to check him up for any symptoms of pneumonia. So far, so good. So off the boys went back home to Mang Elio's place and we hope to see more progress of the poor old man. At least, this time, he was not in pain. Glory be to God for HIS goodness and the goodness of the heart of Doc Lemon.
We made another soul happy today! Cheers!
